FeedAChild HIV/AIDS Policy

FeedAChild acknowledges the seriousness of the HIV epidemic and will support staff, volunteers, parents, and children infected and affected by HIV and Aids.

 

 

FeedAChild affirms that:

 

• HIV Status will not be the reason to exclude any child from our NPO.

 

• An employee’s HIV status will not affect their employment opportunities and working conditions.

 

• No staff member, volunteer, parent, or child will be required to undergo HIV testing.

 

• Staff, volunteers, parents, and children are under no obligation to inform the FeedAChild organization of his/her HIV or AIDS status at any time.

 

• The HIV or AIDS status of staff, volunteers, parents, and children will always remain confidential.

 

• Universal precautions are being practiced at the FeedAChild centers to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases and HIV.

 

• Staff, volunteers, and children living with HIV/AIDS have the same rights and responsibilities as all staff and children.

 

• The staff and children living with HIV/AIDS are protected against discrimination.

 

• All staff members, volunteers, parents, and children will be given the necessary love and support required for them to lead healthy lifestyles.
